HANDING OVER

The official handing over ceremony took place on the 4th of April. The erst-while President Comrade Akeju Tony formally handed over documents to the Ogunjobi Abayomi led team. Also, the NSSRB were also sworn-in alongside. Principal Officers of the house were elected on the same day.

FROM THE NUNSA PRESIDENT


Glory be to almighty God and warmest appreciation to all the academic and non- academic staff of the Department of Nursing Science and by extension College of Health Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, every member of the NUNSA Executive Council, the leadership of Nursing Science Students Representative Board (NSSRB), ever-conscious parliamentarians, and our beloved NUNSITES.

The decision and choice we made collectively a few month ago has determined the side of history we are today, this basis has been the genesis of the transformation we are experiencing in the association today. Though, the hurdles may be gigantic; the odds may be enormous, but it is becoming evident that the challenges are surmountable; the tasks are doable and our vision is becoming reality.
As at today we have been be able to bring into reality a successful fresher orientation programme like never before in the history of our dear association, a four week intensive training on Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) to make us versatile in data analysis in this present age of evidence based nursing practices. We also continued with the plan of the association to present award to the best graduating student of the department.
This current administration also believes that NURSING STUDENTS’ HOSTEL PROJECT is possible through our collective efforts and parental support.
As a matter of urgency, this current administration hereby uses this medium to remind the Federal Ministry Health and all other parastatal involved in standard health care delivery and nursing practices in Nigeria to key into the recent development in nursing profession, that is, the internship placement for fresh nursing graduates.
Finally, our profound gratitude goes to our former Head of Department, Dr (Mrs) A. Ogunfowokan for your support at the beginning of this administration.
Our special appreciation goes to our amiable staff advisers and the current Head of Department of Nursing Science, Dr Olufemi Ayandiran for your support thus far. A big thanks to all students (NUNSITES) for
 giving us the opportunity to serve.

AWARENESS On Monday, 16 th November, 2015, students of the prestigious department turned out massively to let the whole campus know about NUNSA week. Decked in their colourful jerseys, nursing students from every level in the hostel trouped from hostel to hostel amidst much dancing, singing spreading the message of the arrival of the much anticipated NUNSA week. PART TIME CLASS FACELIFT As part of the NUNSA week, the executives of NUNSA OAU and students of the department painted the part time room as a contribution to the department.
